In his publications, he focused on the ecosystem concept and has studied in particular, through network analysis integrated with in-depth interviews, the trajectory and career choices of workers in British theatre as they move between public, commercial and independent realities. These research efforts aim to demonstrate the deep interdependence between human and non-human entities in the production of creative and cultural products and how this should inform the actions of both workers and policymakers.
With HEPHAESTUS, he transfers his expertise to the study of craft ecosystems; by investigating today’s crafters’ work and contexts, the project seeks both to identify a sustainable business model for often risky activities and to identify the future role of craft as a practice.
