New artistic visions for Venetian productions
The project was created to establish a territorial ecosystem in the metropolitan area of Venice, focusing on culture as a driver of innovation and development.
The aim is to foster dialogue between cultural productions and the business system, generating new imagery and new identities for the Venetian territory. Culture is not only artistic expression, but also a strategic lever capable of renewing the way Venice produces, communicates and grows.
The drive for cultural innovation is evident right from the title, which is inspired by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti’s provocative statement (“Let’s kill the moonlight”), urging Venetians not to remain anchored to images of the past. This original insight poetically highlighted the risk to the development of a territory of relying on images, codes and symbols inherited from a mythical past and uncritically reproduced in the present. Cultural innovation, on the other hand, can be a factor in development which, by creatively questioning the past and present, anticipates the future and prepares the conditions for the necessary transitions.
Similarly, the project aims to overcome stereotypes and static visions, promoting cultural innovation capable of imagining the future. KTM is therefore betting on the possibility of activating new Venetian imaginaries thanks to contemporary artistic production, bringing together professionals in cultural production and the business world to develop new imaginaries.
Eight experimental live productions
KTM has promoted collaboration between art, culture and business, involving professionals and companies in the partnership: publishing, music, dance, cinema, visual arts and other creative productions. After a training phase, the partners collaborated with each other, combining skills and ideas, finding time for experimentation and the creation of a new cultural product, a narrative of Venice far removed from the most common imaginaries.
The project therefore took shape in the creation of prototypes and “Live Demos”, with eight events and shows featuring innovative content designed to showcase and demonstrate the transformative potential of culture in various productive sectors.
