cArte – Open air Museum of Paper and Printing in Venice
With the project cArte – the aiku centre has created an innovative thematic itinerary to valorise the chain of micro-small manufacturing companies still active in Venice in the historic city centre, which preserve and hand down, in its various facets, an ancient and very important art for the Republic of Venice: that of paper, printing and publishing. For this reason, an active and authentic ‘diffuse museum’ has been created, promoting a city that is still vital as opposed to the idea of the city-museum that is now predominant in the general imagination.
The general objective of the project was to trigger in the partner craft enterprises a shared strategic vision aimed at the co-design of unconventional territorial marketing actions. Furthermore, the co-design work highlighted the narrative potential of the tangible and intangible heritage of the workshops, through the construction of an evolved storytelling, capable of exploiting the opportunities offered by the new technologies and languages of contemporary cultural production.
The cArte Museum includes: Ca’ Macana | Carterìa ai Frari | Fallani Venezia | Itaca Art Studio | veneziastampa.com
