A journey through a century of stories of silver and silversmiths

The exhibition ‘1921 Spazio Calegaro 2021’ is the result of the MACC project, an initiative financed by the Veneto Region with ESF funds and directed by the Ca’ Foscari University Foundation. Already from the name of the project, ‘MACC, Manifattura, Commercio e Cultura. Trasformare l’identità del territorio veneto in esperienza turistica’ (MACC, Manufacturing Commerce and Culture. Transforming the authenticity of the Veneto territory into a tourist experience), one can already understand the objectives of the proposal, that is, the valorisation and transformation into a tourist experience of the numerous excellences present in the Veneto territory that deserve to be enjoyed and known by the public.

Through jewellery, crockery, cutlery and designer objects, as well as the history of the family and the company, the museum itinerary – which also passes through the actual production departments – offers an overview not only of the material and its technical processing, but also of the people who work it and have been carrying on this tradition for a hundred years.

The new exhibition space, located inside Villa Calegaro in Teolo, the company’s headquarters, is therefore a veritable museum of jewellery and tableware that tells a century of stories of silver and silversmiths, of artefacts and production processes, and of the long tradition embodied by the Calegaro family.
